PlayLab is Paul Pethick’s imagination incubator. We devise bespoke workshops, talks and interactions for business, public spaces, arts and education.
Involving the whole spectrum of cerebral and physical play, music, art, craft and applied technology.
PlayLab projects challenge people to engage with all corners of their brains, and the full width of their creativity.

Paul’s recent book ‘Power of Play’ reveals the big picture of just how play drives imagination and creativity in all its forms. It’s the thesis behind our work, and people have been saying some very nice things about it.
Wonderful.
— CEO Today
I wish every parent, teacher and politician would read this liberating and joyous book.

Talks and workshops examine existing teamwork and creative thinking, and reimagine how things could be done for more effective and dynamic outcomes. Using a range of techniques from physical challenges, to school-room crafts, to systematic restructuring, the PlayLab approach is always tailored to the specifics of the people and the problem.
There’s no better way to engage an audience with commerce or culture than to immerse them in playful participation. We have a range of existing activities, games and custom equipment that have proven very popular at festivals, galleries, museums, corporate parties, and the public square. These can be customised to suit most events, and we’re always open to commissions for unique new installations.
Above all we have a passion for igniting creativity in people — and a state of play is by far the best state to do this in (plus, they’ll be having such a good time they might not even notice they’re learning something). We can produce bespoke experiences for boosting creativity in any sphere — corporate training days, higher education, community arts.
